During the next meeting, you will learn how to create a new fields to track additional information about your customers, vendors, or employees. By creating User Defined Fields (UDF) and User Defined Tables (UDT), you can record information that might be tracked in external systems.
In 2011 Sage announced re-branding changes that would affect most of their product lines (some more dramatically than others). What is most commonly known as MAS 90 and MAS 200 will be included in those changes – the official roll out begins May 15 and officially concludes on November 1.

Also included in the re-branding effort is Peachtree, perhaps the most recognizable of all the Sage brands. Here is an excerpt from a Sage message announcing the change:

It’s Time for Sage 50 . . . the New Era of Peachtree

You know what?

It’s time.

The talking and wishing about moving up to a new and better way of running your business needs to stop. It needs to actually happen.

The good news is, the time couldn’t be more ripe. The new Sage 50 family of small business accounting and management solutions is out May 16.

It rolls out with a bigger, broader, and bolder commitment to streamlining your business processes, making sense of your numbers, saving you time and money, and supporting your investment in a Sage 50 solution every step of the way.

You owe it to your business. You owe it to yourself.

You see, there’s a way to boost your confidence, put your data in order, and create some breathing room where you can think clearly about where you want to take your business. That’s what Sage 50 is designed to do. Power through the mundane tasks quickly, discover the insights hidden in your data, and free up time to get creative about your business vision.

It’s time to find the sweet spot where it all gets done.

It’s time for Sage 50. Trusted. New. Better.

I suspect that the public (particularly those of us paying attention) will begin to recognize more Sage-based branding now that the campaign is underway.

Sage Summit, the annual partner and user conference for all Sage products, is scheduled for August 12-17 (partner days August 12-14, customer days August 14-17) in Nashville. Understanding that any attendee can make or break their experience, regardless of the content, it seems these reasons apply to Sage Summit and any other conference or event you attend.

Five reasons Sage Summit 2012 is a can’t-miss.

There’s one conference this year that has it all, and you’re invited to be part of it. Here are five reasons to break away from the daily grind and attend Sage Summit August 14–17, 2012.

You’ll make valuable connections. Sage Summit offers numerous opportunities to make new contacts, including the all-new Sage City, which is a radically different approach to live networking. You’ll meet accomplished people from your field with unique experiences and skills to share.

You’ll learn how to get more out of your Sage solution. The Sage experts and product designers will teach you valuable tricks and techniques that can save you time and make you even more essential for your company.

You’ll see what’s new in business technology. Like no other conference, Sage Summit brings forth a roster of exhibitors that can help your business solve challenges, speed processes, and make things run more efficiently.

You’ll solve real business problems. Hear from thought leaders, subject matter experts, and experienced product users who can explain how they solved similar problems. It’s a great way to learn what works and what doesn’t.

You’ll become a force for change in your business. Walk away from Sage Summit with new skills, actionable ideas, up-to-date knowledge about trends, and whole crew of new contacts to back you up.

Let’s put aside the argument for or against meetings for a moment. We may be closer to eliminating unnecessary meetings but we all still have schedules to manage.

Because I want to eliminate questions of my availability and the associated email threads and phone tags, I choose to publish my calendar. I can use my calendar to suggest available times for those that I want to meet with and those that want to meet with me know when I may or may not be available. Some users may be more transparent that I am – I only share regular business hours and only available times rather than a 24x7x365 view with all of my meeting details. Some might think that this is over-exposure and enables people that want to take advantage of your time by scheduling meetings at inopportune times of with little (or no) notice but one of the benefits of this particular service is that meetings are requested rather than posted directly – I maintain the ability to accept or decline any proposed meeting.

I find this strip an argument for publishing my calendar. You may find it an argument against.
