Late 2011 brought news from Sage that the wide variety of products they had developed and acquired were being re-named as a branded house (think Mercedes rather than McDonald’s). While the transition won’t be complete until November 2012 and will continue to ramp up into August 2012, you are going to begin seeing and hearing the new brand more often as people move to remain ahead of the curve.
Some of the names listed in the Sage Product Name Grid may not be familiar (it’s an enormous list), here is a short list that you might recognize.
- Sage 100 ERP, formerly Sage MAS 90 and 200 ERP
- Sage 100 Standard ERP, formerly Sage MAS 90 ERP
- Sage 100 Advanced ERP, formerly Sage MAS 200 ERP
- Sage HRMS, formerly Sage Abra SQL HRMS
- Sage 500 ERP, formerly Sage MAS 500 ERP
- Sage Fixed Assets, formerly Sage FAS Fixed Assets
- Sage Fixed Assets Government Edition, formerly Sage FAS Gov Fixed Assets
- Sage Fixed Assets Nonprofit Edtion, formerly Sage FAS Nonprofit Fixed Assets
- Sage ACT! and Sage CRM are retaining their brand names
